Prodiet research awarded at ASPEN congress

Between March 22 and 25, 2025, one of the largest Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition congresses in the world took place in Colombus, Ohio (USA), the ASPEN Congress (American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition).

The event brought together experts from around the world to celebrate the society's 50th anniversary and discuss the latest advances in nutrition.

The conference covered various topics such as enteral nutrition in critically ill patients from the perspective of chrononutrition, the importance of paying attention to micronutrient intake, the use of artificial intelligence in nutrition, the new GLIM publication standardizing the assessment of food consumption, nutritional management in the treatment of sarcopenia, among others.

We presented three studies carried out by Prodiet in partnership with different institutions and one of the studies won an award.

We received the "International Poster of Distinction" award for clinical research into determining the glycemic index and glycemic load of a specialized hyperprotein enteral formula, carried out in partnership with Dr Eliana Bistriche, from the Food Research Center (FoRC) at the University of São Paulo (USP), the main center for determining the glycemic index of foods in Brazil. The study found that the formula studied had a low glycemic index and low glycemic load, making it an excellent option for individuals who need better glycemic control.

This award reinforces Prodiet's culture of encouraging and promoting research, as we believe in the direct impact of science on the quality of our products and their impact on the lives of our consumers.

Dr. João Felipe Mota presented the partial results of the clinical trial with DiamaxIG, carried out in partnership with the Federal University of Goiás. In the study, the researchers observed that the consumption of DiamaxIG as a substitute for a standard isocaloric breakfast resulted in a lower post-prandial glycemic response in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus, which is important for improving glycemic control and reducing glycemic variability in this population.

The third study, but no less important, is a case report carried out by Dr. Marcelo Mendes on a patient with a significant pressure injury in the sacral region, who used Correctmax and showed a 92% reduction in the wound area 56 days after starting supplementation.
