The Sobenfee (Brazilian Society of Wound and Aesthetic Nursing) congress took place between November 26 and 29 in the city of Bahia, Salvador. This was the IX Brazilian Congress on Wound Prevention and Treatment, which took place at the same time as the XV Ibero-Latin American Congress on Wounds and Wounds - SILAUHE, and focused on the theme "WOUNDS AND AESTHETICS: AFFECTS BETWEEN DISASTERS".
This year, Prodiet Medical Nutrition was present at this important event with the participation of a study, presented by nurse Dr. Marcelo Mendes. This study was approved for oral presentation in the Adopt an Injury Project category, and explained the clinical case of a patient with a bullous erysipelas lesion. In this clinical case, the healing of the lesion was positive, with results of a significant reduction in the area of the lesion after 30 days of supplementation with CORRECTMax.
Prodiet was also present at a symposium with nursing professionals Dr. Marcelo Mendes and Dr. Camila Mendonça, who gave a lecture entitled "Technologies and Nutrition in the Treatment of Complex Wounds". In this context, the themes of complex wounds and the holistic approach to patients with wounds were addressed, especially considering the nutritional context and the demand for specific nutrients during the healing process of different types of wounds.
In addition, the professionals brought evidence from clinical practice by sharing case reports and clinical experience in caring for patients with venous ulcers and bullous erysipelas, pointing to the effects on healing time, savings, and scar quality after supplementation, highlighting the importance of the nutrition-nursing binomial for the best results in the healing process.
