Prodiet Medical Nutrition was present at the Multidisciplinary Congress of Nutrition and Dietetics, held from November 21 to 23, 2024, in Panama, with a product stand and an important scientific contribution in the plenary session, in partnership with Kibou Nutrición.
During the event, nutritionist Gabriela Faria de Oliveira presented the topic "Nutritional interventions in gastrointestinal conditions", highlighting advances in the nutritional management of patients with clinical conditions that affect the absorption of nutrients.
The lecture presented clinical studies and international guidelines with nutritional recommendations to optimize absorption, maintain nutritional status and reduce gastrointestinal symptoms.
Among the strategies discussed was the use of hydrolyzed whey protein, medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) and glutamine, nutrients that have shown significant evidence for intestinal cell recovery and efficient absorption.
The closing session featured clinical case reports involving conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, persistent diarrhea, critically ill patients, HIV, and gastrointestinal symptoms associated with radio and chemotherapy treatments.
